MSP – EPISODE 13 – Flushing, Senescence & Final Days before Harvest
The final days of bloom are here and were are 1 day away from chopping so we can start drying. The plants are experiencing low appetites and a natural fade is on every slot except for Buildasoil.
We can now visually judge the buds in terms of final Trichome/THC content and I think on this video, the looks will match the smoke. The bud structures haven’t really progressed much and we’re pretty much capped out. We’re just observing the trichomes and waiting for all the clear ones to turn milky or amber.
Once the majority of the trichomes are milky, I will decide to flush or not. Flushing is just using plain water and drenching the soil or medium so that the nutrients wash out. Chlorophyll is main reason why a lot of people have grassy buds that taste harsh and one of the main elements it is comprised of is nitrogen.
I don’t flush all the time but strictly if I feel like the shade or hue of green in the leaves are too dark for my comfort. If they already have yellow, then no flush is necessary. The purpose of flushing is to strip away nutrients. Think of it like fruits, you want your buds to be ripe at harvest and you wouldn’t want to eat a green tomato, would you?
All feeds are now just plain water and this is just a waiting game.
