Samsung LM301H vs LM301B – LEDs
Samsung LED diodes are dominant in the grow space so companies are labeling their lights with Samsung diodes, LM301H or LM301B, and its super confusing. The best way to tell the difference between the diodes is to reference the images in the video.
Detective Work:
Vivosun VS3000 is not waterproof. WTF! This is where LM301H’s matter
Famurs uses LM301D’s and claim LM301H WTF!
LM301H EVO coming soon, but its literally only 1.2% more efficient. 7.5% more efficient than LM301B. To put this into numbers, Lets say you grow with a 300w light for 16 weeks total (7 weeks at 18 hours – veg, 9 weeks at 12 hours – bloom), this averages out to 14.625 hours per day for 112 days(a full grow), this equals 4.43 kWh per day, or 496.16 kWh per grow. To find how much your energy costs, go here: https://www.electricchoice.com/electricity-prices-by-state/
For me, this is $95.76 and NY is expensive, now take away 7%, that’s $ 6.70 per grow. that I am saving from using LM301H diodes I mean most of the time LM301H lights are like $30 more than LM301B lights so you will need at least 4 grows for the math to add up. For me, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
Now the difference in efficiency between LM301H and LM301D is 12.7% so now the amount of money you save on energy in the example above is $12.16, That’s worth the $30 up charge so when companies make false claims, you’re definitely getting duped and losing in the long run. These are the lights I have not only tested and reviewed, but actually grew with. Check the discord links for actual grow journals.

Here’s some more detective work. Samsung on their website shows LM301H diodes pull 0.20 watts each, For a lamp fixture of 1000 LEDs, that’s 200 watts. Anything over that is lost in the controller, say at 100 watts.
is that maximum numbers? link source?
