First Selfie Seeds Grow (Blueberry Sugar, Tropical Blueberry, and Sweet Flurry)

Today is an exciting day! I did a trichome check about a week ago and seen tons of cloudy. That being said I decided to snag a tester branch from each strain and that is whats in today update. I have trimmed, grinded and rolled up one of each and really excited to test them out.

Just kinda on autopilot right now. Lowered ppfd abit down to around 750. Noticed some were trying to foxtail and still lots of white pistils on the BBS.

I will also say one thing I struggle with is how much to water. I always went with the rule of water less more often. I hand water and use a 1 liter pale to water with. I typically water 3L/plant every other day and they are all in 7gal fabric pots. Really been considering on grabbing some autopots tbh

Yea that wld checkout. Ive calibrated my ph pen and been feeding cal/mag and its def been corrected and I dont see any signs of it coming back

looking close up on some of them they look like they getting alittle too much nitrogen but thats prob just from my top dressing I did a cpl weeks ago with worm castings and what not but that will taper off the next few weeks.

I realized I havent calibrated my ph pen in awhile and when doing so tonight I found it to be like .3 off so maybe it was that..

Im sure you can tell I been experimenting with my lighting and flash. I like the lights off pics and vids cuz it shows the amount frost on these girls so much better but does tend to result in washed out pics and stuff too. And no im not interrupting their sleep these are taken during lights on im just temp turning them off.

For the first time in many of my grows I started seeing cal/mag deficiencies but Im pretty sure Ive already gotten that taken care of with my cal/mag 1tsp/gal I been dosing since veg. Might be just the strains needing more or my well water is all the sudden lacking but all my other grows have loved the water just had to ph it to 6.5 and g2g.

This is also the first grow where I started implementing any sort of additives besides using recharge as like a compost tea. I been feeding Cronk Monkey Juice and Sticky Bandit at 8ml/gal once a month. It might be a placebo thing or HWG just has amazing genetics but when i open my tent at first light each day the dank/sweet stank just pours out and smacks me in the face unlike any grow before.

As mentioned in title of this grow its not my first ever grow but my first ever SelfieSeeds grow and im sold. HWG (SelfieSeeds) will be my main go to breeder moving forward and excited to discover all the other strains HWG has been putting out. I currently have Blueberry Icicle and Strawberry Sugar in veg as we speak. After that im gonna be popping Irene x gdk, chem x gdk and been looking at snagging the Pineapple Sugar cross or the PurpleBerry not sure yet.

This pheno will likely go down as my biggest regret in not cloning. The terps are the most fruit punch terps I have ever smelled from a plant INSANE.

The bud structure, stretch, density, and terps are all exactly what I want in a plant. Luckily I got 3 more seeds that I will be hunting and cloning for future projects.

Did some defol yesterday. Did my best to locate them branches that never made it to the top. There were more than I expected. I bought an UC light I had on at the beginning of this run but when it runs, my tent temps get to like 84 which I dont like. Plus my high ass unplugs it during watering and forget to plug it back in.

Little photo dump. I am genuinely excited for every cultivar in this grow, Normally outta the 3 I grow theres always one that just isn't great. But this grow all 3 look promising.

Day 18 flower

Canopy is starting to get alittle outta control. I am also starting to notice some deficiencies that appear to be cal/mag which Ive already started to implement in my watering/feedings. next weekend I plan on doing my final massive defoliation. Going through again and removing any branches that didnt make it to the canopy and remove all the fan leaves covering any flower sites. I truly believe ppl who have herm issues are inpatient people who mess with their plants within the first 3 weeks of flower so I leave em be til atleast day 21 flower before I start cutting branches/leaves.

Also seems they are getting abit toasty in there. Temps exceeding 84 last week and I see some light burn/crunchy leaves towards the top of the plants. PPM is hitting around 924, considering on lowering to around 800. For now though I increased my exhaust and fan speeds to try and and keep temps around 78-80. RH been pretty steady around 50-60%.

Stacking is looking really nice and the red is starting to really come through. Ill get some better pics once lights come back on tonight.

Ngl When H said he sees alot of red in these flowers (Tropical Blueberry Sugar) I was super interested but VERY skeptical. I've grown a few cultivars that also claimed to grow red/pink flowers but I havent been that lucky yet. But these are looking very promising....🍒 🍒 🍒

Realized I haven't posted in awhile. Been crazy at work .
I flipped to flower back on 8/3/26.

Today Marks 1 week in flower.

I noticed on just a couple leaves some rust blemishes. Appeared to me they were needing alittle extra calcium so I started dosing some calmag. Think it was 8ml/gal.

This is the first grow where I started using additives. I picked up some Sticky bandit and monkey Juice by Cronk. Since I grow using amendments and organically I rely on microbes and heard these really help boost that.

Decided to take a mental health day today from work and just spend time in my garden. Figured today would be a good day to do my first heavy defoliation. I do this twice per grow before flower and then like day 21-30 flower. First time is to get rid of any dead or dying branches and leaves since my tents are only 2x4's and using 7gal pots these girls get big and cramped in there. I defol about a week before flipping to allow more room for them to breathe and get ready for my trellis net when flipping to flower. Alittle before and after

All doing great. Going to do a massive defoliation this week and lollipop to prep for flower next wknd.

Blueberry Sugar, Very similar to The Trop Blueberry sugar. Always alittle droopy in the morning. Watering 1gal every other day so I might increase that and see if they bounce back sooner or if it matters at all. Im thinking its just due to heat recently heat in ohio. Days been around 90 nights been around 75-80 so its not like its a huge temp difference either. PH water at 6.5 and once a month been adding recharge to my water. But still shes looking good, healthy and no signs of deficiencies so im gonna stay on course.

Trop Blueberry Sugar, This girl be stressing me out. Every morning right at lights on shes droopy. Like almost limp like shes not getting enough water. I water about 1gal every other day. I use the same frequency as others. That being said I go to work come back 8hours later and shes praying like theres no tomorrow. No signs of deficiencies and branches are strong af.

Sweet Flurry striving as always. Shes also tends to be the one I notice doesnt stress too much compared to the others. She took to the training well and heat stress lately, shes never droopy.

All 3 looking really good. This is prob my favorite part of veg is right after I transplant and do my LST. They go from looking small, strung out and stressed to BOOMING vigorous plants.

Little LST, tied down branches trying to get that bush going and promote lower growth and an even canopy. Moved the Trop Blueberry Sugar to center (the runt) to try and get more light to it.

You make a good point with it being in that corner. I was thinking about moving it to the center today actually. Theres a fan right above it too. I just had issues in the past where I put the runt in the center for more light but the other 2 monsters on either side just smother it.

So far I am HIGHLY considering on cloning all of them. I have everything but a mom tent right now so we'll see but I still got another month to make that decision. I typically veg for 60 days before flipping to keep my perpetual grow going.

(R) Tropical Blueberry Sugar

The runt of the litter. Doesn't mean its not as good or impressive as it has growth just not so much vertically. I've grown plants out where they remain small and bushy in veg BUT shoot up higher that all the others in flower during stretch so I am not gonna under estimate her. Healthy and vibrant!!!

Man this one is also very impressive with its branching. I mean 0 LST so far and look at them branches. Already looking like a candelabra. This one I feel is gonna be a producer. All healthy new growth and Vibrant green leaves.

I ran alittle short on my medium got more on the way to fill in Sweet Flurry abit more. Sweet Flurry seems alittle unstable atm. Really need it to root out and grab hold since its alittle wobbly. I pulled some soil into a mound around the base to support but def need more soil to top it off. I plan on filling in enough medium to where Im gonna snip the bottom node, wait for it to heal then bury it to get more of that stalk rooted at the bottom. But so far im happy with its progress. Seems to have good Vigor, the branching is looking good and even. Hell I havent done any LST yet and its already looking good so im excited to see how it takes to training next week.

Day 25 Veg

I topped them 5 days ago. I was going to wait but they were getting abit too tall. I normally allow the 4 main branches to grow out then pull them down at a 90 and tie them down to my pots but thats after transplant. The way it normally works out is I veg them in these starter pots for the first 30-45 days (depends on growth) then transplant to their final homes in a 7gal fabric pot then water them with recharge.

Day 13 Veg

These girls are taking off. Temps been running around 80f steady during lights on and around 72 with lights off. RH has been averaging between 60-70% so its been perfect for veg. Been watering with tap water ph at 6.5

I plan on transplanting around day 30, really depends on growth. The current pots I gottem in allow for plenty of time.

I normally top around the 5th node but for these I was considering on waitin til 7 or 8th node then was gonna take that top cut and clone them. I got a 60x60x72 tent coming in about a week or so that I will be using for my mom/clone tent. I have been growing perpetually for a cpl years now non stop and harvest every 70days. I am struggling on finding a cycle with my 4 tents to clone, veg, flower and mother plants but still keep my perpetual cycle going. All tents are 2x4 since the larger tents exceed 72" and I dont have the height for that in my basement. The 5x5 thats on its way has the sloped roof so really only got the 60" before the slope so I wont be using that for flower.

Day 9 since sprout.

Sweet flurry went from the youngest and smallest to the tallest and flourishing (left). Blueberry Sugar (center) not really growing in height so much but shes still popping out nodes and looks healthy. Tropical Blueberry Sugar (right) right on par with Sweet flurry as far as height and growth goes. Overall all 3 looking healthy. Because Sweet Flurry and Tropical was getting kinda lanky I increased ppfd to 200 about 4 days ago and they seem to like it.

Im impressed, in just 8 hours Sweet Flurry went from Pic#1 to Pic#2, shes thriving

Well Its been a few days since last update. Last we left off all 3 germinated but Sweet Flurry was a late bloomer. After 48hours it appeared like it was gonna be a dud so I germinated another Sweet Flurry. Well as of today the original SF has dampened off. However the back up bean I germinated has taken its place. I am so excited. All 3 appear to be healthy. Top soil on the Blueberry Sugar and Tropical Blueberry appears alittle dry but I assure you underneath it is not. Heres some pics I snapped from just a cpl hours ago.

I did not, I've had issues in the past when I pre moisten the soil they would come out then flop over on the top and dampen off. I always Chalked it up to too much moisture. When you pre moisten do you do it the day of sowing or a cpl days in advance? But also do you do that in soil mixing tub or when the soil is in their pots?

Literally only after 2 hours of my last post I decided to go ahead and sow all 3 in their current state. What's crazy is had I waited one more day, both the BBS and TBB would have climbed outta their shell. Ph'd a small cup of water to 6.5 and moistened the sowed spot just alittle and to not disturb the seed. Normally i'd put a dome over them right after but with 70RH I dont really need to. If I notice that top soil drying out too fast ill dome it but we good for now.

I always start in 2.6L pots for the first 30 days depending on their growth. Then I transplant to 7gal fabric pots.

Well I may have jumped the gun alittle. To my surprise I checked on my germination again and found this. Ole SF wants to live and popped outta its shell today. I had already started germinating another one yesterday too. Prob too late to put it back at this point. Might keep them both around through veg and let them compete for a spot in my flower tent

BBS= Blueberry Sugar, germinated and is just about where I like to see things after 48hours, shes promising
TBB= Tropical Blueberry Sugar, germinated but needs another day
SF= Sweet Flurry, DID NOT germinate, after 48 hours no sign of life, no crack and lil root trying to come out or anything. Seed still looks viable and I moistened the towel alittle more and kept her but I did start another SF to be try and keep her in the run.

I germinate the old tried and true method, wet paper towel, moistened with tap water and put into a unzipped, ziplock bag in between 2 paper plates for 48-72 hours.
I prefer to have atleast 1/4" tap roots before planting.
Thats right 1 seed /strain. I hate this part cuz there's always that conflict between germinating more than ya need incase one doesn't germinate but I also hate wasting them if they all germinate so I typically know if I need another one if no tap root on day 3.

I grow using organics for the most part.

Im a hobby grower and reside in Ohio so I got a 12 plant restriction which isnt a big deal cuz I only got room for 4 tents.
I have a perpetual grow going , All 2x4 tents One is my veg tent, flower tent, drying tent and curing tent. Likely gonna turn the curing tent into a mother tent as soon as I find the ONE ya know.
