Sep 2026 — Sweet flurry by Selfie seeds +5 more

Today officially marks day 4, and we have four that made it. Blueberry Sugar and Sweet Flurry didn't. That one's on me. There was too much moisture in the soil and the taproots couldn't breathe. It's a lesson learned, and I'm keeping the moisture in check going forward.

The other four are up and looking healthy. Most have opened up and started greening, and one is a little slower but making progress. I replaced the two that didn't make it yesterday, planted straight into the soil this time. Hopefully they pop in the next few days and we're back on track.

Day 2 – Germination & First Hiccups

Update from the tent: 5 of 6 seeds have now broken the surface, with Miss Mary Black still holding out no surprise there she was the only one without a visible taproot at planting, so she's just running behind the pack.

I noticed some white, web like mycelium threading through the topsoil near a few of the cups, including right where Blueberry Sugar is emerging.

The main thing to manage today: 3 seedlings are dealing with "helmet head" the seed casing still capping the cotyledons as the stem stretches up. Going to let the humidity domes do the work of softening those shells and let them shed naturally before considering any manual intervention. Patience over intervention for now.

Overall a solid day. Germination rate is strong, soil biology looks alive, just working through the normal early hiccups.

September 7th: Soil Build
Mixed my soil base using Pro-Mix, amended with Gaia Green 4-4-4, worm castings, and rock dust. Watered in with 6.2 pH RO water and let the soil sit and activate for 10 days.

Seed Prep & Planting
Soaked seeds in a water/peroxide solution for 48 hours 100% germination rate, every seed popped a healthy taproot. Planted directly into solo cups yesterday.

Soil's cooking, seeds are in cycle's officially underway.
