Sep 2026 — Sweet flurry by Selfie seeds +5 more

So far the ladies are moving along great. I've been feeding them silica and Roots Excelurator. Right now I've got 3 girls on day 15 of veg, 1 on day 14 of veg, 1 on day 11 of veg, and a seedling on day 6.

Environment has been on point. Lights on: 76–78°F, 60–65% RH. Lights off: 68–70°F, 45–50% RH. Light is 18" above the canopy at 30% intensity, putting out about 375 PPFD in the middle.

Here are a few shots of each girl's root zone. Grape Gas has the craziest roots out of all of them so far. Everyone's looking healthy and thriving.

Sugar Cane (SGC) — Day 12

This girl is an absolute unit. Widest canopy in the tent, three nodes deep, and she's already throwing 5-blade fans at day 12. Fat leaflets, thick stem, tight internodes, and that bright lime new growth stacking up top. Look at her from above and she's perfectly symmetrical. Couldn't ask for more.

Grape Gas x Fruity Loopz (GFL) — Day 12

She's my tall girl, reaching for the light with a more open frame, and she's still hanging onto her cotyledons like a souvenir. But the real story is underground: roots are running all the way down the cup wall. She's the most rooted-out of the whole crew and she's ready to go.

Strawberry Sugar (SBS) — Day 12

Sativa leaning hard with those narrow, deeply serrated leaves. Three nodes stacked tight, and from above she makes a perfect little star. Clean color with zero tip burn, and roots are already hugging the cup wall. She's filling her space fast.

Miss Mary Black (MMB) — Day 11

Total indica energy: short, stocky, and built solid. Broad leaves, tight structure, two full sets in with a third on the way. And here's the best part: flip a leaf over and the undersides are already purple. Her genetics are showing off early, and I'm here for it.

Sweet Flurry (SWF) — Day 9

Little stretchy, but she's standing tall and proud. First true leaves are wide open and the next set is unfolding bright lime green right out of the center. Cotyledons are still on duty. She's doing her thing.

Blueberry Sugar (BBS) — Day 5

The baby of the bunch is right on schedule. Cotyledons are open, her first true leaves are out with clean serrations, and there's a little purple tint on the stem already. Small but mighty.

Living soil. Feeding silica and Roots Excelurator every other watering, alternating with plain RO water. All six look great, with no stress, pests, or deficiencies. SGC, SBS, and GFL are leading the pack, and with roots already hitting the cup walls and and down at the bottom, those three are first in line for transplant.

Day 8 for Strawberry Sugar, Sugar Cane, and Grape Gas x Fruity Loops. All three are settling in nicely, with their first sets of true leaves out and looking healthy. Miss Mary Black is right behind them on day 7, and Sweet Flurries is on day 4.

This round hasn't been perfectly smooth. I had to replace both Sweet Flurry and Blueberry Sugar. The good news is that the new Sweet Flurry is doing well. Blueberry Sugar is still germinating. I sowed her directly into the soil this time, so she's on day 2, and now it's just a matter of patience.

The highlight of the week is Miss Mary Black. Right underneath her first set of fan leaves, she's showing purple. In all my years of growing, I've never seen that at this stage. It's the kind of early surprise that makes you pay a little closer attention, and I'm curious to see how that color carries through as she develops.

Miss Mary Black

Today officially marks day 4, and we have four that made it. Blueberry Sugar and Sweet Flurry didn't. That one's on me. There was too much moisture in the soil and the taproots couldn't breathe. It's a lesson learned, and I'm keeping the moisture in check going forward.

The other four are up and looking healthy. Most have opened up and started greening, and one is a little slower but making progress. I replaced the two that didn't make it yesterday, planted straight into the soil this time. Hopefully they pop in the next few days and we're back on track.

Day 2 – Germination & First Hiccups

Update from the tent: 5 of 6 seeds have now broken the surface, with Miss Mary Black still holding out no surprise there she was the only one without a visible taproot at planting, so she's just running behind the pack.

I noticed some white, web like mycelium threading through the topsoil near a few of the cups, including right where Blueberry Sugar is emerging.

The main thing to manage today: 3 seedlings are dealing with "helmet head" the seed casing still capping the cotyledons as the stem stretches up. Going to let the humidity domes do the work of softening those shells and let them shed naturally before considering any manual intervention. Patience over intervention for now.

Overall a solid day. Germination rate is strong, soil biology looks alive, just working through the normal early hiccups.

September 7th: Soil Build
Mixed my soil base using Pro-Mix, amended with Gaia Green 4-4-4, worm castings, and rock dust. Watered in with 6.2 pH RO water and let the soil sit and activate for 10 days.

Seed Prep & Planting
Soaked seeds in a water/peroxide solution for 48 hours 100% germination rate, every seed popped a healthy taproot. Planted directly into solo cups yesterday.

Soil's cooking, seeds are in cycle's officially underway.
