The jig is up for Royal Queen Seed Bank (royalqueenseeds.com) and we are no longer tolerating the SEO traps that target new growers who have no idea how to find good genetics. When I ask people how they found royal queen seed bank, they always tell me that they searched for a strain they liked and RQS was the first thing that came up. They seem to have a stronghold on search engine optimization with cannabis seeds. The problem is, these aren’t even the strains at all and I have NEVER (literally not once) seen anyone on my discord grow their seeds out that looked close to anything they represented them as.

New grower’s often have no idea what quality looks like and they go through a honeymoon phase where they will be happy with almost anything they grow out, even if it’s shitty. Since they have nothing to reference aside from the picture on RQS’s listing, they attribute subpar looking plants to the pitfalls of being a new grower.

It’s only when a new grower pairs RQS seeds with other genetics where they find out just how bad the seeds are. These seeds sold are quite frankly the worst I have ever seen in terms of quality. On our discord, there is a section to post up herms and guess who is at the top of the list??

One simple search on my discord will yield hundreds of messages on herms and let me make this clear, there is no benefit at all for me or anyone on my discord to smear their reputation. We are just letting you know our experience which greatly conflicts with what you find on search engines. Honestly, I am baffled by the amount of fake reviews that appear when you search for actual reviews about them.

If you follow a guide like Grow with Me or even the free one here and pair it with great genetics, you will absolutely have results identical to what you see in the videos which is nothing like the results I have seen time after time for RQS. It is not you, its the genetics!

Unfortunately, the seed market is completely unregulated and breeders and companies in the grow space have free reign to do what they want until someone calls them out. Here at HWGrow, we try to do just that. If you want this article to change, do better RQS! Stop trapping people and selling that Hermaphrodite bunk.

  1. Have had issues with RQS grows as well. Big ups for speaking out on this.

  2. Good job on calling out this company, they’ve tricked people with their trash genetics for long enough.

  3. I am honestly saddened by how many newer growers have been taken advantage of by RQS and their blatant lack of vetting when it comes to what seeds they are selling. I understand that herming can happen for many reasons but when all the data we’ve collected as a community shows way lower herm rates from other white label seed banks. It should be up to seedbanks to minimize the hermaphrodite trait in the seeds they sell by limiting the strains they hold which are reported on. 2/10 would not recommend RQS to my worst enemy.

  4. Have had issues with RQS in general with their ordering system and constant declines. the amount of issues in the discord with their seeds makes me afraid to plant any of the other seeds I bought from them seeing that I don’t want to waste any time on their herms…..

  5. Love your dunk method. Looking at your holy Grail of feeding cannabis and weed – the dunk technique –
You prepared your feed bucket and you don’t run in for eight seconds. Do I still use that water to dunk the other plants as well? I know you said don’t use the runoff of water but what about the dunking Water can we reuse that or is it get all the extra salts from the dunk.

    1. Yes I reuse it as long as it’s not over 1000 ppm after the previous dunk. The trick is to only let minimal runoff drip back into the dunk and let the majority of the runoff spill into a separate container so the excess (unusable salts) doesn’t go back in. It should t really go more than 150 ppm higher than what it was originally.

  6. I recently just stopped using Royal queen seeds, cause I’ve had so many duds and they wouldn’t replace the duds that were replacing the duds from before that.

    1. Yea, smh Not a fan at all at their packaging, their customer service, their quality, their herm rate, their did rate. Everything is bottom tier.

  7. I can confirm RQS genetics are awful
Grew 5 x cookies gelato and every single one hermied.
Set up was perfect, no way am I taking the blame for their poor genetics..
    Stay well clear of them.

  8. I’ve grown Royal Queen seeds in the past. I like a few strains they have. But, I ordered 4 different type seed last order from them. 2 of the strains never germinated one seed. I reached out to Royal Queen seeds and never got a response. Germination guarantee is it worth anything. I for one will never order another seed from them.

  9. New grower here. Looking for recommendations for a realiable, quality seed bank. Any suggestions based on your own experience? Thank a million!
