HWGrow Reviews: Community Feedback and Grower Results
Last updated: August 2026
Thank you. The messages below came from growers who used HWGrow videos, articles and community support to work through real problems. They are a reminder of why this site exists: make growing easier to understand, test advice before repeating it and help home growers get better results without burying the answer under hype.

1. First-time grower feedback

2. Confidence during an initial grow

What HWGrow is trying to do differently
A lot of growing advice sounds certain because certainty gets clicks. Plants do not care how confident the person in the video sounds. They respond to roots, water, light, climate, nutrition, genetics and time.
HWGrow starts with the first-party grow, experiment or video whenever one exists. That observation becomes the starting point—not permission to turn one result into a universal rule. When the test cannot answer the whole question, the article says what was controlled, what was not and where outside research is needed.
- Show the work. Grow journals, side-by-side tests, meter readings, lab comparisons and full seed-to-harvest videos let you see how the conclusion was reached.
- Correct old advice. A useful physical demonstration can stay while outdated pH, flushing, climate or product language is corrected in the written guide.
- Teach the decision. The goal is not to make you copy one bottle, pot or schedule forever. It is to help you understand what signal to watch and what adjustment makes sense.
- Keep the lesson readable. Short sections, direct answers, chapter links, captions and useful images should help a new grower move without feeling like they opened a textbook.
- Be clear about money. Relevant affiliate products and paid lessons help fund the work, but a recommendation should support the method—not replace the lesson.
Start with the answer you need
If you are brand new, begin with the complete beginner grow guide. It connects setup, germination, watering, vegetative growth, flowering, harvest, drying and curing in one seed-to-harvest workflow.
If the plant is already showing a problem, use the evidence in front of you:
- Compare methods in the seven-way cannabis germination test.
- Read the pH, EC, PPM and runoff guide before chasing a bottle.
- Use the nutrient-deficiency diagnostic guide to separate a symptom from its cause.
- Follow the harvest-readiness guide when the finish line is getting close.
Public guides, questions and masterclasses
The public articles are built to solve the search question completely enough to be useful on their own. When you want a structured course instead of separate answers, the HWGrow membership and masterclasses organize the process into a guided sequence.
That includes the Grow With Me curriculum and the separate advanced Hydro and Breeding tracks. The public site teaches durable fundamentals; protected lessons add the step-by-step workflow, continuity and deeper project detail. Access rules and pricing are shown on the membership page.
If you searched the site and still cannot find the exact answer, use Ask HWGrow. Include the medium, plant age, container size, light, temperature, humidity, input pH/EC, runoff trend and clear photos when they matter. Better context leads to a better answer.
Where genetics fit
Environment and technique matter, but they cannot rewrite the plant’s genetic ceiling. When an article involves choosing documented genetics, HWGrow also points readers to Selfie Seeds™, the seed-bank and breeding side of the project. Match the cultivar to the room, schedule and goal instead of buying a name because the marketing is loud.
How to leave useful feedback
The most useful review explains what you tried, what changed and which part of the lesson made the difference. That helps another grower decide whether the same method fits their situation.
- Name the guide or video you followed.
- Describe the medium, environment and starting problem.
- Explain the adjustment you made.
- Share what improved, what did not and how long it took.
- Leave out private details you do not want published.
HWGrow will keep learning, testing and correcting. The best way to honor the support is to keep making the next answer clearer than the last one.
Frequently asked questions
Are HWGrow results guaranteed?
No. The site documents methods, observations and evidence, but plant results vary with genetics, environment, equipment, experience and execution.
Is the beginner grow guide free?
Yes. The public beginner guide and its linked public reference articles are available without a paid membership. Protected masterclasses add structured, advanced course material.
Does HWGrow use affiliate links?
Yes, when a product directly supports the step being taught. HWGrow may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to the reader, and the educational method should remain useful even when an equivalent item is substituted.
Can I ask a question about my own grow?
Yes. Use the Ask HWGrow page and include enough context to diagnose the problem instead of relying on one leaf photo or one meter reading.

I’m on my second grow now and I can honestly say that everything that I know about growing is because of you. Thank you for being a badass and sharing your love and knowledge for weed. The lives you have changed are forever greatful.✌🏻
Appreciate you

Great to hear!, lalalalala
lol
I’ve been growing indoors for about 4 years. Jumping from one nutrient line to the next. Usually have problems in late veg or along the line in the flower stage. Ive gotten better but admittedly still winging it. Gave your flora trio cheat sheet for photos a try and so far (4th week of flower) no issues whatsoever. I’m a believer. Thanks for all you do for the community. Gave a friend a copy of the auto schedule and he’s crushing it also.

Seven months since the voters passed legalization and still no open dispensaries for the public to purchase weed.
Mean while a short drive to the state up north and more supply than they can sell is the alternative.
Thank you for your videos , My first grow four plants with auto flower gorilla glue #4 yielded 321 grams little over 3/4 pound . Smokes good, tastes great.
Now I’m going to try some Critical Purple.
Thanks again for all you do.

Admittedly I had been growing for about 2 years prior to finding HWG. I mainly learned through a certain popular grower/youtuber of northern neighbors. He was great and has a HUGE following and was passionate about the subject. HWG shares that same passion. I saw that within the first few videos. I started tagging along for the ride because I wanted to see HWG grow to become what I know it will be.
I grow organic in coco, mainly autoflowers. Which came with a lot of growing pains (pun intended). I didn’t solve these by going to the person from which I learned to grow. HWG had the information I needed despite having different grow mediums and styles. Nutrients are universal and HWG seems to find these universal truths and present them in a manner to help ALL growers from all walks of life. This is a truly exceptional talent.
So although I did not learn to grow here, I feel I have fine tuned and perfected my grows thanks to the knowledge given here. Although I comment on a lot of videos saying as much, I think another thank you is in order. Your content is always appreciated despite the subject matter because your passion shows through. Keep up the good work and as always much appreciated.
I appreciate a comment like this so much. Where I am now vs where I started is so different and it continues to improve every year. I thought I would master this plant in one year but the complexities and the realization that there are so many things I didn’t know I didn’t know continues to inspire to me to keep improving and figuring things out. I just started working with a lab so now I can even prove out my teachings further which changes everything. I’m happy I could help you grow as well and I’m thankful you realize the passion because to me This really a gift from god and medicine.
