During the chopping process, growers carefully cut the main stem of the plant near the base, typically using sharp pruning shears or scissors. After chopping, the plant is typically hung upside down in a cool, dark, and well-ventilated area to dry. This process is known as drying and curing, where the moisture content of the harvested buds is gradually reduced, allowing for the preservation of potency, flavor, and aroma. Chopping is a crucial step in the cannabis cultivation process as it marks the culmination of the plant's growth cycle and the beginning of the post-harvest procedures. It is a critical moment for cannabis growers as it determines the quality and yield of the final product.
